Coimbatore : District additional court on Thursday sentenced a man to life imprisonment for murder of a man.

On November 24, 2017, three friends -- Mohan, Ramesh, Muthumariappan were sitting on the pavement opposite to Coimbatore general hospital. Premkumar from Muslim Colony, Madukkarai was walking near the pavement. As Rs.300 had gone missing from his pocket, Premkumar came back to the pavement and started searching for his money. After he found the three on the pavement, we found suspicious on them and started to tussle with them alleging them for stealing his money.
In the tussle, Premkumar assaulted Mohan and killed him on the spot. The race course police filed a case and booked Premkumar under relevant sections.
The case was tried in District additional sessions court.
Judge Gunasekaran sentenced Premkumar to life imprisonment with a fine of Rs 1,000.
