Tirupur : Chief Minister Edappadi K Palanisamy inaugurated 'Amrut' and 'Smart City' project works in Tirupur on Thursday.
He also laid the foundation stone for 4th water project at a cost of Rs 1063 crore, under drinking water project of Amrut scheme.
Chief Minister Edappadi Palanisamy, Speaker Dhanapal, Ministers S.P. Velumani, Udumalai K Radhakrishnan, Sengottaiyan and MLAs took part in the event.
Addressing the gathering, Chief Minister Edappadi Palanisamy said, "While we are striving hard to implement people-friendly schemes; Stalin is wasting time by dreaming of the CM seat. All schemes envisioned and promised by 'Amma' is being implemented one by one".
"While the opposition parties were drumming that AIADMK will shatter, soon. We have shown them how to lead a party by entering into the third successful year. Laying foundation stones were the only achievement by DMK whereas AIADMK believes in execution", he slammed.
‘In another two years, Tirupur city will have a complete facelift. New investments were brought through the World Investors Conference that was held last month", he noted.
"Though Stalin is walking down the streets to inject misinformation about AIADMK government, Tamil Nadu people are clever enough to ignore him. People have recognised our efforts and sidelined DMK", the CM pointed.
Later, while addressing the gathering Minister S.P. Velumani said, "After the implementation of 4th drinking water scheme, Tirupur will be free of drinking water problem for the next 50 years".
"The opposition parties who prank our governance have to do a reality check of their past as their baseless allegations will not yield result", he noted.
Minister Udumalai K. Radhakrishnan in an emotional note thanked CM Edappadi Palanisamy for his concern over him when he fainted in a meeting at Chennai.
The following projects have been approved:
*Foundation stone has been laid for various projects under smart city project scheme including Rs. 52 crore to transform Townhall into Conference hall.
*Rs. 36.5 crore has been allocated to renovate old bus stand and Rs 18.17 crore to renovate new bus stand.
*Solar panels at corporation buildings at a cost of Rs 2.34 crore.
*Integrated Management and control room at the cost of Rs 30 crore.
* Rs. 22.19 crore to segregate wastes under was waste management and build recycle centre.
* LED lamp fixing at a cost Rs. 16.92 crore.
*Other welfare schemes at a cost of Rs. 8.52 lakhs provided to 4770 beneficiaries.
