Coimbatore : Following the complaint raised by the parents of the 2-year-old child, alleging that HIV infected blood was administered to their child at Coimbatore government hospital, Dr. Anandh representing the National Child Health Commission held a meet at the District Collectorate to communicate on further action.
Coimbatore : Following the complaint raised by the parents of the 2-year-old child, alleging that HIV infected blood was administered to their child at Coimbatore government hospital, Dr. Anandh representing the National Child Health Commission held a meet at the District Collectorate to communicate on further action.
Clarifying on the investigation to be initiated on the allegation, Dr. Anandh assured that the Commission will not compromise on the health of the children, hence a full-fledged investigation has been ordered to find out the truth behind the allegations.
He also added that officials will commence the investigation at Coimbatore general hospital and submit a comprehensive report by a week's time.
"In this case, the child has been treated at three different government hospitals. So, it has to be ascertained at which hospital the HIV infected blood was administered to the child", he noted.
To ensure transparency, members of National HIV Control Board will also be present during the investigation at Coimbatore GH.
Asokan, Dean, Coimbatore Government hospital and other officials were present.
