Coimbatore : A public conference ‘Indiavai Meetpom Tamilagathai Kaappom’ is to be held near Codissia, this evening. DMK Chief M K Stalin, CPI General Secretary Sudhakar Reddy, MDMK Chief Vaiko, VCK Chief Thirumavalavan are some of the leaders participating in the conference.
MDMK Chief Vaiko who arrived at the Coimbatore airport, addressed the media saying, "It has been 12 days since Mugilan went missing. Sterlite or the police department should be held responsible if anything happens to him. Many, including Mugilan’s son Henry Teffen have filed a complaint with the police.
The mystery prevails in Mugilan's case, which has never happened in Tamil Nadu before. The State government's stance in Mugilan’s case also raises suspicion. If anything happens to Mugilan, the State government should take responsibility."
"Black flag will be shown to the Prime Minister Modi on arrival at Kanyakumari on March 1, in protest for issues on providing approval to build a new dam in Mullai Periyar, NEET issue, 10 percent reservation, Hydro Carbon and Gaja Cyclone," stated Vaiko.
On being questioned about the statement of Tamilisai that black flag protests were of no use, Vaiko said, "She has the right to express her opinions." Commenting on the coalition talks with DMK, Vaiko said, "It is taking place in a healthy and happy manner. News is being circulated that I will contest from Trichy which is not true since the governing body has not been convened yet," he reiterated.
