Coimbatore : Actor Ranjith was here in his hometown of Coimbatore and met the press at the Press club. During the press meet he lashed out at the ‘unholy’ alliance and ‘betrayal’ of trust of many thousands of youngsters by PMK and Anbumani Ramadoss.
He was visibly miffed and said “I initially joined PMK because it was ideologically the best party in my opinion. PMK Leader Ramadoss also gave me leadership role in the party by giving District Vice President responsibility. But today, it seems as though the party is changing ideologies like wearing a different shirt everyday.

It is hard to fathom that the party which i thought will do good for the people has now decimated my dreams in an instant. Anbumani has consistently trashed ADMK in all his speeches. He has conducted so many protests against ADMK. But now he has surrendered by joining hands with the same party that he has trashed and protested against.
In this scenario, how will he even face the people? What will he tell to request votes for PMK? He should have thought about all these things at least for a moment.
People are struggling every day to get their demands met and now that PMK has aligned itself with the party and MLAs that we have blamed to be corrupt, the slogan Maatram (change) Munnetram (progress) is just Yemaatram (disappointment / feels cheated). The youngsters who flocked to PMK thinking that it will provide a change to the people and our politics have now been grossly cheated.”
When the press people enquired that Ramadoss has told that ADMK has agreed to the 10 conditions that was set forth by PMK and that is why the alliance was forged, he was quick to dismiss it as hollow rhetoric. He said “This is the biggest comedy and those conditions were also comical in nature.
This alliance will only last till the local body elections and after that they will move away from the ADMK alliance and will again come out and say Maatram Munnetram and cheat youngsters.
I was in a lot of mental stress before quitting the party and now that i have decided to quit, I’m a lot more relieved. Look at how Anbumani who used to boss press meets like a king now struggle to answer even a single question like a coward. In yesterday’s press meet when Anbumani is unable to answer straight to a single question, how will he face the people and request to believe PMK and vote for them?”
He sighed that “I thought Anbumani will be the sword that will fell ADMK but now he has pledged that sword to ADMK itself. I don’t think many in PMK will even come to work for PMK in these elections now. Maybe now the leadership might feel they will benefit from joining the bandits but in the long run they will feel for this move”
He also requested people to please not sell their votes for Rs. 1000 and 2000.
