The Nilgiris : The otherwise serene, cool and calm landscape of Kothagiri was disturbed today when shrubs near a crowded residential colony suddenly went up in flames.
The Club Road in Kothagiri is home to hundreds of residents and is densely packed with houses. Today a few shrubs near the colony of houses went up in flames and thick smoke engulfed the area.
Fire department came to the spot quickly and tried to put off the fire so that it doesn’t spread to the nearby houses. After a short struggle they brought the flames under control. It is said that the dry parts of the shrub caught fire due to the heavy sunlight during the summer.
The fire department had asked the residents to immediately call them in case they encounter similar fires.
