Addressing the media after the event, MLA Anbalagan said, "Once the tenure of the current Vice Chancellor (even though he is suspended) is over, a new Vice Chancellor (VC) will be appointed. Until then, a new VC cannot be appointed.
A third person from the Government will soon be appointed to the VC committee and after that new applications will be received from interested applicants for shortlisting. There is no delay in appointing the third member to this committee.
Due consideration will be given to those who were transferred or suspended, due to their involvement in the JACTO-GEO protests.
Since 2011, 56 new Arts and Science colleges have been inaugurated and we are interested in creating more colleges if the need arises," reiterated Anbalagan.
