Coimbatore : Income tax officials are conducting a raid at the Malabar Gold and Diamonds store on 100 ft road, in Gandhipuram, since this morning.

More than 10 officials are involved in checking all floors of the jewellery store. Officials have carried out this raid based on the tip-off that the company has evaded taxes. The jewellery store had just opened four months ago. Details regarding the tax evasion if any, will be known at the end of the raid.

Customers have been allowed entry into the store even from the beginning of the raid, but the management has placed an announcement board that says employees were given leave today. The front shutter of the shop has also been left half open.
