Fire in Mudumalai Tiger Reserve brought under control

The Nilgiris : The Forest Department has stated that the fire breakout in the Mudumalai Tiger Reserve which lasted for three days has finally been brought under control, since last night.

The Nilgiris : The Forest Department has stated that the fire breakout in the Mudumalai Tiger Reserve which lasted for three days has finally been brought under control, since last night. 

Nearly 50 acres of Mudumalai Tiger Reserve has been reduced to ashes in the recent fire that broke out at the Mudumalai Tiger Reserve. "Only the fire set by the Forest Department as part of the measure to douse the fire is still burning," said officials. 



About 200 forest department officials are still camped at the forest as part of a preventive measure. Forest officials are also vigilant about taking measures to prevent the spread of fire from burnt wooden logs.
