Coimbatore: About 50 residents living around Rainbow bus stop protested on the Coimbatore-Trichy National Highway alleging that both private and government buses do not stop at the Rainbow bus stop.
About 200 families reside at the Highways Colony, East Club Road, near Rainbow bus stop. Among them, 50 residents from the neighbourhood staged the road roko on the Coimbatore-Trichy National Highway. "Due to the buses not stopping at Rainbow bus stop, we have to walk for nearly 2 km," they lamented.
The Race Course police had to rush to the spot of the road roko to pacify the protestors, following which they dispersed from the spot.
