Coimbatore : The Rathinam Group of Institutions hosted the ‘Icons of Coimbatore’ Award Ceremony - 2019, recently, in the Rathinam Auditorium, in Eachanari, Coimbatore.
The ‘Icons of Coimbatore’ is a grand event in which the people of Coimbatore who have been high achievers in different industries are recognized and honored for their outstanding contribution, selfless service and inspiring leadership. The awards are presented to further motivate the inspiring personalities and keep them focused to continue on their journey toward excellence.
Bishar Al Shaar, Deputy Ambassador and Salam Socar, Cultural and Media Attaché, Embassy of Syria and Dr. Raid Kamel Abbas were the dignitaries at the function. Dr. Madhan A Sendhil, Chairman of the Rathinam Group of Institutions welcomed the gathering. He was emotionally exultant at finding the best icons from Coimbatore to honor and award them every year from 2013.
Prof R Manickam CEO, Rathinam Group of Institutions presided over the award ceremony. Bishar Al Shaar, the Chief Guest while addressing the gathering lauded the Indian education system saying the students of Syria were interested in pursuing studies in India. He noted that thus far 400 Syrian students were pursuing their courses in India due to the high quality of education available in India.
Bishar Al Shaar also said that the reasons for Syrian students flocking toward India was due to the affable people, high rate of development and promotion of culture and peace toward Syria. "Syria is expecting the friendship between both countries to help rebuild Syria as well as mutually benefit both countries," affirmed Bishar Al Shaar.
