Coimbatore : "Farmers from the District are invited to avail benefit fron the Pradhan Mantri Ministers’s Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme (PM-KISAN) by applying at the special camp held between February 25 to 27", said an announcement from S. Banumathi, Assistant Director of Agriculture.

Under this programme, Rs.6,000 will be paid to 12 crore small and marginal farmers holding cultivable land of up to two hectares per year in three instalments.
So far, nearly 69,000 farmers have applied from the district of Coimbatore. Out of which, 36,016 eligible applicants were selected and admitted to the scheme. The first instalment of Rs.2000 has been deposited to the beneficiary’s account.
The Director of Agriculture has requested the farmers who own below 5 acres of land to apply to the scheme and avail the benefit of PM-KISAN.
Farmers are requested to produce their Chitta, Aadhar Card and Bank account details to the village administrative officer and enrol their names.
