Coimbatore: A TASMAC owner was stabbed on Sunday here after scuffle broke out with tipplers for allegedly selling liquor more than MRP.
According to Police reports, two youngsters visited the TASMAC outlet on the Vadavalli- Siruvani road at 10:30 pm on Sunday. Allegedly scuffle broke out between the owner, Pazhampathy and the youngsters for demanding higher price for the liquor.
The youngsters with an intent to assault the TASMAC owner called their friends who stabbed the owner with a knife, while he was enroute to his home.
The incident happened near Maharani avenue on Vadavalli- Thondamuthur road. Seeing the assault, the public rushed to the spot and chased away the youngsters.
The TASMAC owner who was grievously injured in the incident was rushed to a private hospital. The Vadavalli police are on the lookout for the youngsters involved in the assault.
