Tirupur: A Class 10 girl, Navya of CSI Girls Higher Secondary School in Dharapuram had committed suicide in the computer lab in her school building on February 9. The parents of the girl have now petitioned seeking investigation into the case. It was alleged that the school administration had sent the body for postmortem without the consent of her parents.

"When we inquired on our daughter’s death to school administration, we were told she committed suicide after she was scolded for eating cake from the bag of another girl. Another person said that a love letter was grabbed from her bag.
As various reasons were put forth regarding the death of our daughter, we doubt whether the school administration itself had murdered our daughter," alleged the distraught parents. They have now filed a petition with the Collector seeking proper investigation into the death of their daughter.
