Coimbatore: A total of 24,730 new voters have submitted applications to enrol their names in the voters list during the special voters drive held in the district on February 23 and 24.

The Special voters’ enrolment drive was held across 3070 polling booths in Coimbatore. During which, 5,838 voters have applied to change their address/names; 7,800 youngsters between 18-19 have applied to get their names added in the voters list.
As the nation is heading towards the 2019 general elections, the Election Commission is gearing up the preparations, including special voters’ enrolment drive, for the upcoming Lok Sabha and Assembly elections at all States.
