Man attempts suicide at Coimbatore Court premises

Coimbatore : A 44-year-old man attempted suicide at the premises of District Court here on Monday.

Pandurangan (44) an auto driver and his wife Kavitha are residents of Kannakurichi, Salem. Due to difference of opinion between the couple, nine years back, Kavitha applied for divorce at the Family Welfare Court. Since then, it is reported that Pandurangan was under undue pressure and depression. 

Meanwhile, he appeared at the family welfare court today regarding the hearing of the ongoing case. During today's hearing, Pandurangan had allegedly asked the Judge to complete the case, as early as possible. 

Following which, he attempted suicide at the court premises by consuming ‘cow dung powder (sani powder). Public who were present there rescued him and sent him to government hospital for treatment.

Tense moments prevailed in the Court following the suicide attempt.
