Nilgiris : The Forest Department has banned tourists from venturing into the Mudumalai Tiger Reserve following a recent fire breakout.
Trees sprawling for around 50 acres at Mudumalai Tiger Reserve were burned to ashes in the fire that broke in the Mudumalai Tiger Reserve. Though the extent of the damage was less during the wee hours of Sunday, the fire began to spread rapidly due to heavy winds thereafter. The situation seems to be out of control though hundreds of fire fighters are trying to douse the fire, since dry leaves are widespread across the forest reserve. Hence, with the prevailing situation, tourists have been banned from venturing into the Mudumalai Tiger Reserve.
