According to reports, Subramaniyam (70), a retired SSI along with his wife Padmini and son Senthil Kumar were residing at Anna Nagar, near Irugur within the Singanallur Police Station limits.
His son Senthil Kumar who had married about five years ago had separated from his wife, following which he lived with his parents. Senthil Kumar, an alcoholic had frequent tussles with his father. When Padmini had left her home yesterday, a tussle broke out between father and son.
In a fit of rage, Senthil Kumar stabbed his father Subramaniyam with a knife. Subramaniyam reportedly died on the spot. Following the incident, Senthil Kumar fled from the spot. Padmini who returned home was shocked to find her husband stabbed to death.
On information, the Singanallur Police rushed to the house and commenced an investigation. Thereafter, the police have nabbed Senthil Kumar.
