The Nilgiris : Two sustained grievous injuries as a tourist van with about 20 employees of a private suitcase manufacturing company met with an accident at KNR on the Coonoor-Mettupalayam national highway. The van toppled into a nearby gorge as the driver lost his control over the vehicle.

Among the 20 persons who travelled in the van, two sustained grievous injuries while others escaped with minor injuries. Mohammed Anas (16) and Satham (27) who were grievously injured were admitted to the Lawley Hospital in Coonoor.
Upon investigation, the van driver Saravana Kumar stated that all the persons in the van hailed from Uttar Pradesh and were employees of a suitcase manufacturing company.
