Forest fire in Maruthamalai, foresters, public and NGOs put it down

An appreciative collaboration between fire department, NGOs and social activists helped to put off the fire


Coimbatore: In what could be an appreciative collaboration, public and NGO members joined hands with members of the Coimbatore Forest Division in putting down a forest forest that was caught in the foothills of the Western Ghats near Maruthamalai here today.

More than twenty people joined hands to fight the fire started near Bharathiyar University around 1.00 pm.



They fought for three hours before putting down the fire that spread from the nearby patta land.

Appreciations are pouring down from all directions for the team for successfully pulling it off.



Meanwhile, foresters are trying to put down a forest fire at Kovaipudhur in the Madukkarai Forest Range.
