Coimbatore : With the forests of Bandipur burning continuously after a huge forest fire broke out there, patches of the Coimbatore Forest Division have also caught fire.

The forests of Madukkarai Range and Boluvampati Range have been burning since evening and forest staff have been posted to put out the fire.
According to sources, some miscreants had reportedly lit fire to the dried grass at Kovaipudhur on the patta land on the forest fringe. This fire had spread to the nearby forests in Madukkarai Range and is spreading fast.
Forest staff have been deployed to put out the fire in wherever the fire has broke out.
Earlier, senior officials from the department had said that the field staff have started to draw fire lines in the forest. However, forest fire had started much earlier much to their shock.
Meanwhile, the fire at Bandipur had reportedly reached the Mudumalai Tiger Reserve.
