The Tamil Nadu Muslim Munnetra Kazhagam has pasted posters paying homage to the CRPF martyrs who had lost their lives in the Pulwama district attack in Jammu and Kashmir and against terrorism. Banners were also placed in Aathupalam for the general meeting ‘Amaidhai Nokki’ reportedly after gaining approval from the police.
Meanwhile, members of the Manidhaneyal Makkal Katchi and Tamil Nadu Muslim Munnetra Kazhagam accused that the police tore away the banners and posters placed by them.
Following this, hundreds of party members gathered in protest and left the spot only after negotiations by the police. The gathering of the party members at midnight triggered a furore in the Athupalam area of the city.
