Coimbatore : A man was grievously injured in a road accident after two speeding cars rammed on him and tossed him up in the air on Avinashi road, Wednesday.

According to sources, two cars were racing with each other on the stretch between Jenneys residency and Codissia on the Avinashi road. One of the car bearing number TN 38 AJ 1383 rammed on a two wheeler who was waiting to take a u-turn at the junction. The car not only rammed but sped from the spot without stopping.
The public who witnessed the accident alerted the Peelamedu Police who rushed to the spot and commenced investigation. The injured man was rushed to a private hospital nearby.
As the window panes of both the cars had sun film, the public could not make a note of the passengers and driver of the cars. However, it is speculated that the cars could have been driven by youngsters, as similar racing incidents for cheap thrills and bet has been ongoing in the stretch.
