Around 400 families reside at PAP Nagar, Karthik Nagar and Muththanampalayam in the 38th ward of the Tirupur Corporation. Though drinking water was being supplied earlier, thrice a month, water supply currently is only once a month.
Protesting against the lack of this basic civic amenity, hundreds of women in the area staged road roko on Muththanampalayam-Nallur road, demanding regular water supply. Following this, police rushed to the spot assuring the women of necessary action, after which the women dispersed.
