The Nilgiris: The Vice-Chairman of the National Commission for Scheduled Caste (NCSC) L Murugan announced that Rs.3 crores has been allocated to open a garment sales zone in Nilgiris for the benefit of tribal women who are involved in knitwear manufacture.

Speaking at the special camp held for the entrepreneurs of tribal and Adi Dravidars in Nilgiris, L Murugan said, "I have recommended the Tholirpettai of Kadhar Gram Board functioning at Mudalipalayam to the Central Government. Likewise, measures will be taken to open a fish sales market at Rameswaram for the benefit of the fishermen.

Chandira Mouli, member of Kadhar and Gram Business Association reiterated that Rs.52,000 crore worth schemes had been implemented through their association.
