The Nilgiris: A wild tusker attacked a daily wages worker at Mudumalai tiger reserve (MTR), Nilgiris on Monday night.
According to police, Vasu (47) is a daily wages worker and resides in Nagampalli near MTR. Yesterday night, at around 10.30 a wild tusker attacked him while he was returning home after his work.
As Vasu did not turn up home, his family members began to search him. Vasu was spotted dead in reserve area close to his residence. It was later found that, Vasu had succumbed to an elephant attack.
His body was taken to Gudalur Government hospital for post-mortem.
