CMCH Dean denies allegations of HIV-infected blood given to 2 year old

Coimbatore: The CMCH Dean has denied the allegation that HIV-infected blood was given to a two-year old at the Coimbatore Government Hospital.

Coimbatore: The CMCH Dean has denied the allegation that HIV-infected blood was given to a two-year old at the Coimbatore Government Hospital.

According to sources, the child was admitted to the Government Hospital for a heart condition and was given blood for the treatment. After a few months, the child was brought to the hospital again for an illness. During the treatment, it is reported that the child was affected by HIV. Following this, the parents were tested and reports revealed that there was no trace of HIV in the parents. The parents insist that they did not take their child to any other hospital other than the Government Hospital. 

Hospital authorities have denied the accusation saying there were no chances of HIV-infected blood being given to the child. but based on the complaint from the parents, the Dean of CMCH, Ashokan has commenced an investigation.
