Coimbatore: Seeking collector’s help to protect their land, an elderly woman and her son submitted a petition on Monday.
According to the petition, Ramathal (85) and her son Rangasamy had a four-acre farmland in Kuniyamuthur. Unable to maintain the land, she had employed one Sivakumar to oversee it. Meanwhile, Sivakumar had allegedly tried to plough the land along with his relatives to claim ownership of the land. He had also reportedly threatened the mother and son taking the name of a local minister's brother.
Following this, the duo had petitioned the collector to take action against Sivakumar. In her petition, they had also stated that the Kuniyamuthur police refused to take action on their complaint. Instead they were advised to settle the issue amicably.
