The Nilgiris: Haridas (50) of Mission Compound area in Kotagiri had the worst nightmare of his life on Saturday night as three bears attacked his house.
After hearing weird sounds on the midnight of Saturday, Haridas peeped outside his window and was shell-shocked to see three adults bears trying to break his house door.
Struck in panic, Haridas immediately informed his neighbours through cell phone who chased the bears by using fire logs.
"Wild animals venturing into our area from the nearby reserve area has become very common. Fearing animals attacks, we are unable to move out of our house both in early mornings and night hours. The forest department should chase these animals into deep forests and ensure our safety", lamented Haridas.
