Coimbatore : According to a GO dated February 16, J. Sravan Kumar I.A.S, Sub Collector of Tirupur will take charge as Coimbatore Corporation Commissioner, as Dr. K. Vijayakarthikeyan, CCMC Commissioner is transferred and posted as Director, Tamil Nadu Insitute of Urban Studies, Coimbatore.
Coimbatore : According to a GO dated February 16, J. Sravan Kumar I.A.S, Sub Collector of Tirupur will take charge as Coimbatore Corporation Commissioner, as Dr. K. Vijayakarthikeyan, CCMC Commissioner is transferred and posted as Director, Tamil Nadu Institute of Urban Studies, Coimbatore.
And, T.N. Hariharan, District Collector has been transferred and posted as Special Secretary to Government, Municipal Administration and Water Supply department.
Though Doctor by profession, Dr. K. VijayaKarthikeyan cleared his civil services exam in 2011.
Dr.K. VijayaKarthikeyan assumed charge as CCMC Commissioner of Coimbatore in 2014 and notably the youngest commissioner to take charge in the history of Coimbatore.
In 2016, he took an additional charge of 'special officer' and also the Managing Director of Coimbatore Smart City Project.
Many important projects including smart city, rejuvenation of water bodies, mass encroachment drive, Suez 24/7 water supply among others were signed during his tenure.
He has now been transferred as Director, Tamil Nadu Urban Studies.
