Coimbatore : More than 1000 pensioners staged protest in front of Coimbatore head office of TNSTC at Mettupalayam Road here on Friday condemning non remittance of pension for the month of January.
The protesting retired employees of TNSTC Coimbatore alleged that they were not provided pension for the month of January and also urged to streamline remittance without delay in the future.
Speaking during the protest, General Secretary of Welfare Association for Retired Employees Selvaraj said, "There are 7000 petitioners in Coimbatore zone among which only 3000 were given pension. As many of the retired employees are dependent on their monthly pensions for their living, delay could affect them big time".
