Coimbatore: Public waylaid the vehicle of the Deputy Commissioner of the Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments (HR&CE) department demanding action against functionaries of the Aranganadhar Temple, who were alleging involved in fraudulent activities.
Ever year, devotees from various parts of the district throng the Aranganadhar temple located at Karamadai near Mettupalayam to witness the chariot festival on February 18.
Meanwhile, residents of the locality complained that the HR & CE department officials - Marudhu Pandian (executive officer of the temple) and Mahendran (accountant) – were involved in fraudulent activities, and wanted the duo to be banned from participating in the temple festivities.

Hence, they filed a petition to the Commissioner of the HR & CE and waylaid the vehicle of the Deputy Commissioner and urged him to take necessary action at them at the earliest. The petitioners cleared the place only after the officials assured to look into the issue.
