The Nilgiris: With summer just a leap away, the Nehru Park in Kotagiri is getting ready to woo the tourists.
As many as 30,000 flower saplings are being planted in a rapid pace to decorate the premises of the park, which includes a flower garden, a rose garden, a grass floor and a children's park. Ahead of every summer, the Horticulture department takes up the work of decorating tourist spots in the district to attract more visitors.
This time, the summer festival would start with a two-day flower show at the Nehru Park. Even models of vegetables would also be put on display as part of the show. Gardeners expect the planting works to be completed in a week, and flowers to start blooming by early March.
