Coimbatore: Muralidhar Rao, the BJP National General Secretary was here in the city today to take part in a meeting with textile manufacturers and entrepreneurs at the Chamber Hall.

Speaking to the media, Muralidhar Rao briefed on 'Bharat Ke Mann Ki Baat, Modi ke Saath' which is a part of the BJP’s public outreach campaign ahead of the general election, this year.

"Through the campaign, BJP seeks suggestions directly from the people of every region to prepare its 'sankalp patra' or the election manifesto for the 2019 election through the month-long campaign across the country, including the politically crucial state of Tamil Nadu," he noted.

"In terms of creating job opportunities in various sectors like textile, agriculture and industries, Coimbatore, Tiruppur and Karur are very influential cities in Tamil Nadu. Hence, suggestions from the region's entrepreneurs and industrialists would help us create a promising manifesto," added Muralidhar Rao.

When questioned on alliance with other parties, Muralidhar Rao confirmed that BJP will form an alliance with one of the political parties in Tamil Nadu for the upcoming parliamentary elections.

"However, our alliance will be toward good governance and positive development of Tamil Nadu. Soon, an announcement will be made," he asserted. When asked about the controversial speech made by the Deputy Speaker, Thambidurai in the Parliament, he said, "As PM Modi's image is growing in Tamil Nadu, there is no need to comment on an individual's speech. Even AIADMK has not issued any statement regarding his speech."

Vanathi Srinivasan, TN BJP Vice President and C P Radhakrishnan, Coir Board Chairman were also present.
