"In the Budget 2018, it was declared that there will be at least one medical college for every three parliamentary constituencies and at least one government medical college in each state of the country. Setting up of a new medical college and hospital in Tirupur will provide medical assistance to around 20 lakh people including women, children and people of this Kongu region. This will also increase the number of students and medical faculty in the Kongu region of Tamil Nadu. I urge the Centre to take necessary steps for setting up a new medical college and hospital in Tirupur at the earliest," urged Sathyabama.
