According to sources, residents of Bharathi Nagar had complained of bad smell emanating from a well in their area. Following this, the Kuniyamuthur police found a decayed body floating in the well. On information, the Fire and Rescue Service personnel came to the spot and recovered the body, which was sent to government hospital for post-mortem examination.
After conducing preliminary investigations, police officials identified the deceased as Asarudeen, a youngster from Kuniyamuthur, who was working as a car mechanic.
Recently, Asarudeen had reportedly gone missing while undergoing treatment for his mental illness. A case has been registered and further investigation was on.
