For the past two days, the queen of hills was gripped with humidity and as a result rains lashed this afternoon non-stop for two hours in and around Ooty.
However, post the rainfall, the streets of the entire town were soaked in sewage water causing menace to the pedestrians and motorists.
As most of the drainage sewers in the town were clogged with wastes, the rainwater along with sewage water ran across the streets leading to sanitation issues.
Tourists ran hither and thither at the boat house and botanical garden due to the surprise showers.
