With a motto to promote regional tourism, Skal International India formally launched its Coimbatore Chapter on Saturday at an event held in hotel Le Meridien here.
Charles Fabian, General Manager of The Residency towers was announced as the President of Skal International Coimbatore.
Charles Fabian the President of the newly inaugurated club lauded the multi-dimensional facets of Coimbatore.
"The sons of Coimbatore have selflessly contributed to the development of the City", he expressed.
He also vowed that he along with the 32 members of newly formed Skal Coimbatore will stride to promote the region's tourism to the global audience.
Core members of the Skal Coimbatore team were also announced during the event who were honored by the National committee team of Skal India.
Ideas to develop travel and tourism industry in Coimbatore and the Nilgiris region were discussed during the launch of Skal Club, Coimbatore.
Representatives of Skal Clubs from 12 cities -- New Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Pune, Goa, Trivandrum, Cochin, Srinagar and Ahmedabad were present at the launch.
Founded in 1934, Skal is a 85-year-old professional organization of tourism leaders around the world. It is the world’s largest Travel Organisation of Travel and Tourism Professionals. It is the only international group uniting all sectors of the travel and tourism.
