The Nilgiris: In a bid to spread awareness on the functioning of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) and Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trails (VVPATs) among people and political parties, the Nilgiris District Collector, J. Innocent Divya inaugurated the campaign on Saturday.

Eight mobile vans carrying EVM and VVPATs will tour through every village in the District to educate the people on how to cast votes and how to ensure that their vote as been cast to the contester they had chosen.
"The campaign aims to alleviate misconceptions about VVPATs among people and special teams have been deputed to reach out to the people", the Collector said.
