Little did the man expect that he would soon become an online sensation for his ‘jumbo’ encounter.

However, unmindful of their warnings, a commuter from the same bus, who was allegedly drunk, got down from the vehicle and went closer to the three elephants crossing a road just to feel them. Little did the man expect that he would soon become an online sensation for his ‘jumbo’ encounter.
The ‘viral’ video has been reportedly taken by onlookers late in the evening at Dhumanur Pirivu on February 6.
According to sources, the incident happened on Anaikatti Road. The unidentified man, in an ‘inebriated state’, attempted to get closer the elephants. Although, the male jumbo retaliated, he managed to escape unhurt.
The video, which has been going rounds on social media platforms, has been garnering the wrath of activists. They have condemned this act, calling it ‘unruly and foolish’.
Meanwhile, the Forest department officials are on the lookout for the man, who was believed to have been involved in such issues before.
Similarly, video of another inebriated man attempting to ‘taunt’ Chinna Thambi - the 25-year-old jumbo camping in Udumalpet for the last few days - has also gone viral. Later, he was moved from the place by the Forest department officials before the elephant could retaliate. The officials had also warned of strict action against people teasing wild animals.
