Nilgiris: Judge Vadamalai granted bail to all the six persons connected to the Kodanad case, at the hearing of the case today.
Investigations in the robbery attempt at the Kodanad estate belonging to the late former Chief Minister on April 13, 2017, in which the security Om Bahadur was killed, had been carried out with 11 persons, in connection to the case. The major accused Kanagaraj in this case died in a road accident, following which others including Sayan, Manoj, Thibu, Jithin Joy, Jamseer Ali, Santhosh Sami, Udhay Kumar, Satheesan, Valayar Manoj and Bijin Kutty were arrested and lodged in prison. As the proceedings of this case was on at the court, all the 10 connected to this case were provided bail and appeared before the Ooty Court during the hearing.

Though all the 10 were ordered to appear before the Ooty Court today, only 6 persons Jamseer Ali, Satheesan, Udhayakumar, Santhosh sami, Manoj and Jithin Joy appeared before the Court, whereas Bijin and Thabu did not appear for the hearing. Sayan and Valayar Manoj had another case filed against them for making derogatory statements on the CM Edappadi Palanisamy. A plea on this was filed by the public prosecutor Nandhakumar on January 16 at the Ooty Court.

Since both the men had appeared for the hearing today, Judge Vadamalai passed a warrant for all the four accused. Following this, all the six who appeared before the Court today, claimed they were innocent during the hearing, after which the Judge provided bail for all six men.
