Addressing the media, MDMK presidium Chairman, Tirupur S Duraisamy said, "We will not show the 'black flag' if PM Modi comes to Tirupur for campaigning. But if he is arriving to participate in government functions, we will show our dissent at him not visiting the Delta region during the Gaja cyclone.
The Centre did not allocate Rs.15,000 crores as relief fund which was sought by the State government to carry out relief measures in the Delta region. The majority of schemes that PM Modi is about to inaugurate during his visit to Tirupur are not related to Tirupur. Though the police have denied us permission show the 'black flag,' more than 1000 MDMK party members will express their dissent to PM Modi near the Tirupur New Bus Stand.
However, the police have given permission to the BJP to place a banner which says that rewards will be provided to people who show the black flag. This shows how the Central Government is misusing its power," noted Tirupur S Duraisamy.
