Coimbatore : The fifth edition of the Kongu Nattu Kalnadai Thiruvizha has commenced at Samathur, Pollachi with the inauguration of a one-of-a-kind model farm.

Kaumaram Madalayam's Kumaragurubara Swamigal inaugurated the model farm in the presence of Shankar Vanavarayar, Managing Trustee of Vanavarayar Foundation.
One of the signature events of the Vanavarayar Foundation, the three-day cattle fair between February 8-10 is aimed at promoting the agrarian economy and create awareness on conserving our native livestock. Over the years, the Expo has proved to be a promising platform for farmers and livestock rearers who proudly exhibit their livestock. The Expo also allows them to interact with farmers and consumers, and thereby build new opportunities.

Hundreds of indigenous bulls like Kangeyam, Ongole, Tharparker along with cross breeds will be on display at the exhibition. Varieties of buffaloes, rams, roosters and horses are also expected to be on exhibit.
The annual event garners people in thousands across the District, especially families who throng the grounds at Samathur along with children to witness an array of native varieties of livestock, all at one go.

The Expo promises the visitors a fun-filled experience who also have the opportunity to buy value-added organic products from the farmers directly.
