Coimbatore: Makkal Neethi Maiyam leader, Kamal Haasan has made it clear that his party will not ally with DMK or AIADMK, because his party wants to deliver something good to the people which requires for the party's hands not to be sullied.
Replying to a media query at the Coimbatore airport on the possibility of an alliance with the AMMK, Kamal Haasan said, "When we want to keep our hands clean, we have to be cautious about alliance partners. Any alliance will be formed only after proper thought so that our hands remain unsoiled."
When questioned on whether his party will contest alone in the upcoming elections, Kamal Haasan responded that their steps seem to be in the right direction and finally everything lay in the hands of the people.
To a question regarding Stalin's reported statement made at a Muslim wedding ceremony that Hindu marriages conducted by priests were shameful, Kamal Haasan replied that it was not the first time that such statements were being made and hence it did not shock him, and yet basic courtesy demands that such comments should be avoided.
