Rs.2.50 crore 'hawala' money seized in Palakkad

Coimbatore: The Palakkad police have seized Rs.2.50 crore hawala money near the Palakkad railway station.

Coimbatore: The Palakkad police have seized Rs.2.50 crore hawala money near the Palakkad railway station. 



According to reports, based on a tip-off that a gang was bringing hawala money to Palakkad district through Coimbatore, the Palakkad Police rushed to the Palakkad railway station. During investigation, the police grew suspicious of five men who were standing near the Palakkad railway station. 

While interrogating them, the police seized Rs.2000 and Rs.500 currency notes that were hid under their belts. The police have reportedly seized Rs.2.50 crores from the men. Initial investigations revealed that two among them are from Kollam and one was from Palakkad.
