Coimbatore: The Mettupalayam section of the Transport Department organised a road safety awareness rally in Mettupalayam in line with the 30th road safety awareness week. The rally was taken through the arterial roads of Mettupalayam after being flagged off by the Mettupalayam Transport Officer, Thiyagarajan.

Students from schools and colleges, policemen, cab drivers and activists took part in the rally. During the rally, participants held placards that stressed on the importance of wearing seat belts, helmets and adhering to other road safety rules.
