Perur padithurai stream to be de-silted

Coimbatore: In an attempt to clean the Perur Padithurai stream that is situated on the Noyyal River in the outskirts of the city, members of various NGOs along with Government departments have planned to de-silt the stream using earth movers on Sunday.

Coimbatore: In an attempt to clean the Perur Padithurai stream that is situated on the Noyyal River in the outskirts of the city, members of various NGOs along with Government departments have planned to de-silt the stream using earth movers on Sunday.

The decision was made after an inter-department meeting that was held today involving officials from Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments Board, Public Works Department and volunteers.

They have also decided to clean the lake of plastic and create awareness among local shop owners to not use plastic.
