Tourism Dept. steers in 12 new boats at the Ooty Boat House

The Nilgiris: Officials from the Tourism Department have announced that 12 new boats will be bought for the Ooty Boat House, at the cost of Rs.22 lakhs.


The Nilgiris: Officials from the Tourism Department have announced that 12 new boats will be bought for the Ooty Boat House, at the cost of Rs.22 lakhs. 

With tourists thronging to the Nilgiris every year, various picnic spots across the District are spruced up for each summer season. The Ooty Boat House is a major tourist attraction where tourists are seen in long queues for boat rides in spite of 91 pedestrian boats, 33 motor boats and 9 paddle boats being operated. 



To combat the rush for boat rides this upcoming summer season, the Tourist Department has stated that 9 pedestrian and 3 motor boats will be bought at the cost of Rs.22 lakhs, and will be operational from the first week of April.
