Coimbatore: The Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, Edappadi K Palanisamy inaugurated a 'Mani Mandabam' for Narayanaswamy Naidu at Vaiyampalayam in Coimbatore, which was built at the cost of Rs.1.5 crores by the State Government.

The Chief Minister unveiled the statue of Narayanaswami Naidu and paid a floral tribute. The Minister for Municipal Administration and Rural Development, S P Velumani, MLAs Arukutty, OK Chinnaraj, Ettimadai Shanmugam, PRG Arunkumar, Kasthuri Vasu, Amman Arjunan, MP Mahendran, Ex-Mayor S M Velusamy and many others participated in the event. Later, the Chief Minister also laid a foundation stone for various schemes.
Speaking at the event, Edappadi Palanisamy said, "Being a farmer, I feel pride in unveiling the ‘Mani Mandabam’ for Narayanaswamy Naidu who strived hard for the welfare of farmers. The foundation stone for the Avinashi-Athikadavu project will be laid by the end of this month.
Tamil Nadu is the leading beneficiary of the Prime Minister's insurance scheme and measures will be initiated to sell vegetables through online and cold storage warehouses. A 'Food Park' will be opened in Chennai spanning across 300 acres. A veterinary research centre will also be opened in Tamil Nadu."
"Since a few areas were left out in the Avinashi-Athikadavu project, Plan-2 will be announced soon to add these areas as per the farmers' requests. Pathway construction above rivers and water streams have commenced, for which inspection is already on with four retired chief engineers.
Amma’s government along with the Central Government will implement the Godavari-Cauvery linking scheme which will bring up to 200 tmc water to Tamil Nadu, which will be a permanent solution to the prevailing water problem," reiterated the Chief Minister.
Earlier, Kavundampalayam MLA Arukutty in his inaugural address said, "We will take all necessary measures to resolve the farmers' issues." PRG Arunkumar reiterated that the Chief Minister had allocated funds in a short time, in accordance with the orders of the late former Chief Minister Jayalalitha, during her tenure.
Addressing the gathering, the Deputy Speaker of the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly, Pollachi V Jayaraman said, "Coimbatore has witnessed vast development in the past two years since road expansion and flyover work are being done regularly. Today will be a day of immense joy for the Tamil Nadu farmers.
Anaimalai-Nallaru scheme will be implemented at the earliest. The foundation stone laying work for the Avinashi-Athikadavu scheme will take place soon. Coconut farmers have benefitted from the Neera scheme after the ban levied on it was lifted."
The Information and Publicity Minister, Kadambur C Raju said, "This was announced by the late former Chief Minister Jayalalitha under section 110. Rather than being a regular function, this is like a family function. ‘Mani Mandapam’ has been opened for the one who has untiringly strived for the welfare of the people. The 'Mani Mandabam' has also been inaugurated in various districts by the Chief Minister Edappadi Palanisamy.
Later, the Chief Minister also laid a foundation for a library and gallery which is to cost Rs.10.16 crores at the Government Law College, Rs.3.55 crores at the Integrated Industry Safety and Health Operation Office and Rs.2.75 crores at the Panchayat Union Office at S S Kulam.
Speaking at the event, Minister SP Velumani said, "Right from the day, Edappadi Palanisamy took charge as Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, the opposition have putforth a series of false claims to collapse our government. However, they failed in all their attempts because people have recognised the hard work of our CM who has been working day and night for the welfare of the State".
"Present ruling government is the sole reason behind the forming of Cauvery Commission. The state is witnessing a himalayan growth under the regime of CM Edappadi Palanisamy", he lauded.
