As summer is near, the fodder for herbivorous wild animals have started to shrink in the Nilgiris forest range. In search of fodder and water, they have begun to venture into residential areas.
Though Gaurs strolling the roads in Coonoor is very common, this Gaur made it's way all the way to the most crowded bus stand and left the people in panic.
While the people were awestruck by the massive Gaur walking down the busy Mount road and later into the bus stand, the Gaur patiently grazed the greens along the pathways before it vanished into the reserve area near Vannarapettai.
The residents have jointly urged the forest department to initiate preventive measures to keep wild animals at bay and ensuring they don't enter urban areas.
